StickerShock Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of StickerShock, an informational decision-support service made available at getstickershock.com(the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

StickerShock helps consumers review the individual line items on an automobile dealer quote and compare those charges against StickerShock market benchmarks and, where available, state-specific regulatory reference information. Its output is informational only.

StickerShock is not legal advice, financial advice, insurance advice, tax advice, or mechanical advice. It does not determine legal compliance, guarantee any price, savings, benchmark accuracy, or outcome, and it does not represent that any particular dealer must or must not charge any particular amount. You are responsible for your own purchasing decisions and for consulting qualified professionals where appropriate.

StickerShock uses a third-party AI service (OpenAI GPT-4o) to extract charges from pasted quote text and uploaded quote images. Extracted information may be misread, omitted, or misclassified. Please review the extracted line items before relying on the analysis.

AI-extracted line items, vehicle details, sale price, and other fields may be misread, omitted, or misclassified. Before relying on any analysis, please review the extracted information carefully and correct anything that does not match your actual dealer paperwork.

Market benchmarks reflect ranges derived from StickerShock's current dataset and methodology. They are estimates, not legal limits or guaranteed prices, and they can be incomplete or out of date. Individual line items vary by vehicle, region, dealer, and time.

State-specific regulatory reference information, when shown, is general information about the state's published rule and is not a legal determination of compliance. Rules change and may contain conditions or exceptions. Consider verifying the current rule with the applicable authority or a qualified professional.

StickerShock does not offer user accounts, authentication, or sign-in. You may use the Service anonymously. You are solely responsible for the content you submit — including pasted quote text, uploaded quote images, vehicle information, sale price, line items, state selection, dealer name (optional), VIN (optional), and any consumer feedback you submit after receiving an analysis.

Do not submit content that infringes another party's rights, that you are not authorized to submit, or that contains sensitive information you do not want processed by an AI extraction service.

After an analysis you may generate a share link. Anyone with this link can see this analysis. Share carefully. Anyone who possesses a StickerShock share link can access the shared analysis. Please do not post share links publicly.

The shared view is a sanitized subset of the analysis. In particular, it does not expose the VIN, the dealer name, the internal session identifier, the raw quote text you pasted, any uploaded image data, or any consumer feedback you may have submitted after the analysis. Share links cannot currently be revoked. Treat every share link as equivalent to publicly disclosing the sanitized analysis to anyone who receives the link.

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with StickerShock's security controls, rate limits, or request-size limits;
• submit content that is not yours, that is misrepresentative of an actual dealer transaction, or that infringes third-party rights;
• reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise attempt to extract the StickerShock benchmark data set or non-public methodology;
• use automated tools to send excessive requests or otherwise degrade the Service for other users;
• represent StickerShock output as legal, financial, insurance, tax, or mechanical advice.

The Service depends on third-party technical services, including an AI service used for quote extraction (OpenAI GPT-4o) and a database/storage service (Supabase). Those services are operated by their respective providers and may have their own terms and privacy notices. The platform infrastructure that hosts StickerShock may separately use cookies or similar technologies for security and bot-management purposes; StickerShock does not control that infrastructure's cookie behavior.

StickerShock, including its benchmarks, methodology, copy, layout, and code, is owned by its operators and licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial evaluation of your own dealer quote. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

You retain rights in the content you submit. By submitting content to the Service you grant StickerShock a limited, worldwide, royalty-free right to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you — including running the AI extraction, running the analysis, generating share links you elect to create, and storing associated records as described in the Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided on an as-available basis. StickerShock may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, and may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. STICKERSHOCK DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY BENCHMARK, REGULATORY REFERENCE, ASSESSMENT, OR EXTRACTED LINE ITEM IS COMPLETE OR ACCURATE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STICKERSHOCK AND ITS OPERATORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

Governing law, choice of forum, and dispute-resolution provisions will be finalized with counsel before public launch. Nothing in this section is intended to waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable consumer-protection law.
